The original cathedral dates back to around 1050 however many changes have been made since then and the official foundation was in 1133 however was not completed for many more years.  The building was rebuilt in a gothic style with the work being completed around 1400.  Naturally other alterations were to take place but none so more drastic then after the war world two bombings during 1942.  Most of the building was destroyed and so major worked was carried out to restore the building to its former glory.

After the second world war much of the city was in need of repair and so those faithful folk of Devon rebuilt the exeter-buildingscity, originally at the heart of the wool trade Exeter is now considered the centre for tourism in Devon and Cornwall. Exeter is well known for its independent arts scene and has a great love for sporting and music events providing some top locations for both.
